DETAILS14300.6 - Determination of New Cases |
Recurring symptoms of chronic illness are not new cases (e.g., cancer, asbestosis, silicosis, etc.) Each episode caused by a new event or exposure in the work environment is a new case (e.g., occupational asthma, skin disorders). If there is a medical opinion regarding resolution of a case, the employer must follow that opinion about whether the case is a new case or a recurrence. |
