San Francisco -- The California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board headquarters office will move to a new location effective Monday, July 31, 1995. The new address is 1300 "I" Street, Suite 920, Sacramento, CA 95814. The telephone numbers for the Standards Board will remain the same: Tel. (916) 322-3640; Fax (916) 445-5939.
The Standards Board is the rulemaking body responsible for adoption, amendment and repeal of occupational safety and health standards and regulations enforced by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health.
The main office of the California Occupational Safety and Health Appeals Board will also move to a new location effective Monday, August 21, 1995. The new address will be 1300 "I" Street, Suite 940, Sacramento, CA 95814. Telephone numbers for the Appeals Board will also remain the same: Tel (916) 322-5080 and (916) 327-7121; Fax (916) 445-6331.
The Appeals Board is an administrative court that hears appeals from employers regarding abatement requirements, special orders, civil penalties and citations issued by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health for alleged violations of workplace safety and health standards and regulations.
Both boards have been located in an historical landmark building, the California Fruit Building (now known as the Desmond Building), since the inception of the Cal/OSHA program in 1973, and will now be housed in the newly constructed Department of Justice Building in downtown Sacramento.
