Memo on Requirement for Insurer Review of Employer’s IIPP

OAKLAND -- The Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation (CHSWC) is pleased to announce the final release of the CHSWC memo “Requirement for Insurer Review of Employer’s IIPP.” The January 19, 2012 memo was previously posted on the CHSWC website for comment and feedback.

The memo provides a brief background on the law requiring that every employer in California establish, implement and maintain an injury and illness prevention program (IIPP), per Cal/OSHA’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) Standard (Title 8, California Code of Regulations Section 3203). The Commission was established to conduct a continuing examination of the workers’ compensation system and of the state’s activities to prevent industrial injuries and occupational illnesses and to examine those programs in other states.
