In 2009, Faith Culbreath was asked to join the team at SEIU United Long Term Care Workers (ULTCW). The largest union local in California, ULTCW represents 180,000 in-home caregivers and nursing home workers. She currently serves as the Director of Strategic Partnerships, and she is charged with developing and engaging in relationships with disease management, community, non-profit and faith-based organizations and foundations.
In 2007, Faith was appointed President of Security Officers United of Los Angeles (SOULA), Local 2006. In January 2008, SOULA successfully fought for and won an historical landmark deal that set the stage for Security Officer Contracts around the country. Ms. Culbreath started in 2000 with SEIU in Washington, D.C., as an Administrative Assistant for Stephen Lerner, director of the Property Services Division and architect of the "Justice for Janitors" Movement. By 2001, Faith was a Field Campaign Coordinator for the Property Services Division and worked on various national and global campaigns. She also played a key role during the 2002 "Justice for Janitors" contract strike in Boston, where she coordinated all logistics for 5,000 workers. Later, she was prominent in the development of the new SEIU Property and Service Local 3 in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Indiana. She served dual roles as Secretary-Treasurer as well as Detroit City Director of SEIU Local 3.
