The Department of Industrial Relations' Cal/OSHA Advisory Committee, which meets monthly, provides a means for discussing issues related to the Cal/OSHA program. PROPOSED RULEMAKING SCHEDULED FOR UPCOMING PUBLIC HEARINGS

Pursuant to Government Code Section 11346.4 and the provisions of Labor Code Sections 142.1, 142.2, and 142.3, the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board has set the time and place for a Public Hearing. At the Public Hearing, the Board will consider public testimony on the proposed changes noticed below to occupational safety and health regulations in Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations.

After proceedings held in accordance with and pursuant to authority vested in Sections 142, 142.3 and 142.4 of the Labor Code to implement, interpret, or make specific, the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board, by a majority vote, adopted additions, revisions or deletions to the California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Chapter 4, as follows:

  1. 1. Title 8; Chapter 4; Subchapter 7; General Industry Safety Orders; Articles 14, 90, 91, 92, 93 and 96; Sections 3472(b), 4884, 4885, 4886, 4907(b)(2), 4924(b), 4965, 4966 and 4968; Cranes and Other Hoisting Equipment With Regard to Manufacture Dates; and the Use of Load Indicating and Load Moment Devices.

    Heard at the July 19, 2001, Public Hearing; adopted on November 15, 2001; filed with the Secretary of State on January 3, 2002; and became effective on February 2, 2002.
