In accordance with Labor Code Sections 1173, 1178 and 1178.5, the Industrial
Welfare Commission ("IWC") will hold a public meeting on Friday January
10, 2003. This public meeting will be held in Sacramento at the State Capitol,
Senate Room 4203 commencing at 10:00 a.m.
1. Consideration of Wage Board Report from the Wage Board appointed to review
and make recommendations to the IWC regarding the minimum wage in California.
2. Appointment of members to a Wage Board that will consider amending Wage Board #9 (Transportation Industry) to include public transit drivers as pertaining to meal and rest period requirements that now apply to the private sector but exempt transit workers in the public sector, as requested in petition letter dated October 29,2002.
3. Closed session pursuant to Government Code 11126(e) to discuss pending litigation (National Ready Mix Concrete Co. vs. IWC, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and Arthur S. Lujan in his capacity as Labor Commissioner).
4. Any new business that may come before the IWC.
