(Time noted: 10:00 a.m.)

COMMISSIONER ROSE: Id like to call the meeting of the Industrial Welfare Commission to order.

Bridget, would you take roll, please?

MS. BANE: Mr. Rose.

COMMISSIONER ROSE: Here.

MS. BANE: Is that on now? Mr. Rose.

COMMISSIONER ROSE: Present.

MS. BANE: Mr. Cremins.

COMMISSIONER CREMINS: Here.

MS. BANE: Mr. Bosco.

COMMISSIONER BOSCO: Here.

COMMISSIONER ROSE: As required by law, we are meeting here today to have public comment on proposed amendments to Wage Order 5 regarding overtime, meal periods, and rest periods.

MS. BANE: The Industrial Welfare Commission met by virtue of a representation of its members, namely, Mr. Rose was present at two prior public hearings on amendments to Wage Order 5. Those amendments were recommended by a wage board that met previously, on May the 31st and June the 18th -- excuse me -- July the 18th, 2001. There were several amendments, all of which have been unanimously agreed upon by the wage board and recommended to this Commission.

The Commission will meet again on October the 29th to finally consider any amendments that have resulted and any changes that might have resulted from public hearings.

This is the third and final of the public hearings, and we are here to entertain any comment from the public.

With that, Im going to turn it back over to you, Mr. Chairman.

COMMISSIONER ROSE: Thank you.

There is nobody in the audience who wants to speak on this issue.

Fellow commissioners?

COMMISSIONER CREMINS: Youve done a wonderful job, Mr. Chairman.

COMMISSIONER ROSE: With that, weve taken care of this issue.

And the 29th meeting is in San Jose, for anybody whos interested.

And with that, well adjourn the meeting.

MS. BANE: Do we need a motion to adjourn?

COMMISSIONER BOSCO: I move we adjourn.

COMMISSIONER CREMINS: Second.

MS. BANE: The meeting is adjourned.

COMMISSIONER ROSE: Thank you.

(Thereupon, at 10:02 a.m., the public

hearing was adjourned.)
