In accordance with Labor Code Sections 1173, 1178.5 (c) and 1181, the Industrial Welfare Commission has proposed for public comment regulations regarding on-site occupations in the construction, drilling, logging and mining industries, as well as regarding the minimum wage. The IWC will hold public hearings in the following cities: in San Diego on September 21, 2000, in San Francisco on October 3, 2000, and in Stockton on October 5, 2000. All hearings will commence at 10:00 a.m.

AGENDA

  1. Approval of Minutes.
  2. Consideration and public comment on the attached (A) proposed regulations regarding on-site occupations in the construction, drilling, logging and mining industries.
  3. Consideration and public comment on the attached (B) proposed regulations regarding the minimum wage.
  4. Any further business that may come before the commission.

In order for the IWC to provide an opportunity for interested parties to speak at the public hearings, the amount of time within which each speaker will be allowed to address the IWC may be limited. Accordingly, the public is urged to submit written statements to the IWC concerning items on the agenda.
