NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
of the
INDUSTRIAL WELFARE COMMISSION
August 17, 2000
Sacramento

In accordance with Labor Code sections 1173 and 1178.5(c), the Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) will be considering the wage board reports and recommendations of two separate wage boards. The IWC selected the first wage board to consider its charge and other information provided regarding the on-site industries of construction, drilling, logging and mining. A public meeting of the On-site Industries Wage Board was held on June 20, and July 20, 2000. The IWC selected the second wage board to consider its charge and other information provided regarding the adequacy of the minimum wage in California. A public meeting of the Minimum Wage Wage Board was held on July 21, 2000. The IWC will hold a public meeting in Sacramento on August 17, 2000, in the auditorium at 744 P Street, for the purpose of preparing proposed regulations that will be considered at future public hearings. The meeting will commence at 10:00 a.m.
                                                                  AGENDA

          1. Approval of Minutes.

2. Consideration of the wage board report(s) and recommendations regarding the on-site construction, drilling, logging and mining industries.

3. Consideration of the wage board report and recommendation(s) regarding possible amendment to the general minimum wage order, Title 8, California Code of Regulations, section 11000.

          4. Any further business that may come before the commission.

In order for the IWC to provide an opportunity for interested parties to speak at the public meeting, the amount of time within which each speaker will be allowed to address the IWC may be limited. Accordingly, the public is urged to submit written statements to the IWC regarding items on the agenda no later than 72 hours in advance of the meeting.
