NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
of the
INDUSTRIAL WELFARE COMMISSION

The Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) will hold a public meeting on April 14, 2000 in the auditorium of the Oakland Federal Building, located at 1301 Clay Street, commencing at 10:00 a.m.

AGENDA

1. Approval of the minutes.
2.. In furtherance of Labor Code Section 517(b), public comment on matters impacting upon the health care industry as a result of the enactment of the "Eight Hour-Day Restoration and Workplace Flexibility Act of 1999," commonly known as AB 60, including but not limited to employees covered by Labor Code Sections, 511 (g), 515 (f), 1182.9 and 1186, the IWC's Wage Orders 4 and 5, as well as Interim Wage Order 2000.
3. Public comment on the provisions of Labor Code Section 517(a) that require the IWC to adopt regulations to provide assurances of fairness in the conduct of employee elections to adopt or to repeal alternative workweek schedules, procedures for the implementation of alternative workweek schedules, the conditions that must exist before employers can repeal alternative workweek schedules adopted by their employees, employee disclosures, designations of work, and processing of workweek election petitions.
4. Any other usual business that may come before the commission.

In order for the IWC to provide an opportunity for those interested in speaking at this meeting, the amount of time within which each speaker will be allowed to address the IWC may be limited. Accordingly, the public is urged to submit written statements to the IWC regarding items on the agenda in advance of the hearing, if they have not already done so.
