Register or Renew Online

Applying online is quick and easy! You can save your application throughout the process, pay fees online, and easily submit the application after all required documents are completed and attached.

If you previously submitted the application by mail or in person

If you submitted the application in person or by mail last year, your online account profile has already been created by the Department of Industrial Relations from the information and documents you already provided. You do not need to resubmit documents that are still current.

  1. Access your online account here.
  2. Go to "create new account" and fill in the form to complete the creation of your account (do not do anything else).
  3. Click on "Link Existing Registration". Find your renewable license and link to it.
  4. The "Renew" link will become available 90 days prior to your license expiration date for you to edit and submit your online application for renewal
If you previously applied online
  1. With the same username and password that you used when submitting your application online last year, access your online account.  You can submit your online application for renewal 90 days prior to your license expiration date.
  2. All the documents you previously submitted are saved in your online account, but some of them may need to be updated. Use the checklist to confirm that you have attached all the documents listed and still current before you submit the renewal application.

Which Form Do I Need?

Short-Form Application

You can use the short-form renewal application if you meet all four of the following conditions.
 
      1. Since your previous application, no changes have been made in your business entity status or information, which includes the following:

  • No change in form of legal entity (including no change in the partners, corporate officers, members of LLC or the sole proprietor).
  • No change in legal entity identifying information previously provided (including business name(s); full name(s) of the sole proprietor, partners, corporate officers, or LLC members, whichever is applicable; address(es); telephone number(s); and percentage of interest of all persons with a financial or profit-sharing interest in your business).

     AND

     2. You have no outstanding civil citations, unpaid penalties, or delinquent unpaid wages, you have filed all required tax returns, and you have no outstanding personal or employment tax liabilities. (If you do have delinquent unpaid wages, unpaid penalties or other outstanding liabilities, your application for automatic renewal will not be approved.)

     AND

     3. No one (sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer, or LLC member) has pleaded guilty or nolo contendere to or been convicted of a crime substantially related to working conditions or worker’s health or safety, either misdemeanor or felony, within the past ten years.

     AND

     4. No one (sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer or LLC member) has been found guilty, or hired any supervisorial personnel who have been found guilty, by either a court or administrative agency, of having committed sexual harassment in the workplace in the preceding three years.

If you do not qualify for the short form, please complete the long-form renewal application and submit it with payment of the required fees to one of the addresses below.
