Cal/OSHA and State Compenstion Insurance Fund co-host Heat Illness Prevention Workshop for Employers

WHAT	Heat Illness Prevention Workshop for Employers to be held in Fresno
WHEN	Friday, June 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
WHERE	SCIF Fresno District Office 10 River Park Place East Fresno, CA
WHY	Cal/OSHA staff will provide employers with up to date information on heat illness prevention for outdoor workers. Employers will learn about their responsibilities under California law (Labor Code §3395, Heat Illness Prevention) regarding heat illness regulations passed in 2005 by the Governor to prevent employee injuries and deaths from heat illness exposure working outdoors. Other topics covered will include: Developing an effective outdoor heat illness prevention plan—especially for those who are not proficient in the English language; Training employers on outdoor heat illness prevention; Educating employees on adjusting to working in the outdoor heat; Recognizing heat illness symptoms; Providing accessible and clean drinking water for employees and Having proper shade and cooling stations for employees. There is no cost. All California employers are encouraged to attend.
