Commission to Host Roundtable on Workers' Compensation Fraud

SAN FRANCISCO -- At its meeting in Sacramento yesterday, the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation (CHSWC) decided to host another community roundtable on fraud in the workers' compensation system, reflecting its ongoing dedication to anti-fraud efforts. This roundtable will continue the dialog and update information presented at CHSWC's public hearing on workers' compensation anti-fraud activities in 1997. The Commission is committed to fighting fraud efficiently, effectively, against all perpetrators.

At its meeting in Sacramento yesterday, the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation (CHSWC) decided to host another community roundtable on fraud in the workers' compensation system, reflecting its ongoing dedication to anti-fraud efforts. This roundtable will continue the dialog and update information presented at CHSWC's public hearing on workers' compensation anti-fraud activities in 1997. The Commission is committed to fighting fraud efficiently, effectively, against all perpetrators.

The Commission is charged with overseeing the health and safety and workers' compensation systems in California and recommending administrative or legislative modifications to improve their operation. The Commission was established to conduct a continuing examination of the workers' compensation system and of the state's activities to prevent industrial injuries and occupational diseases and to examine those programs in other states.
