The Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation Releases the "Requirement for Insurer Review of Employer's IIPP" Memo

OAKLAND --  (CHSWC) is pleased to announce that the Commission’s memo “Requirement for Insurer Review of Employer’s IIPP” has been approved for release for public comment.

Every employer in California is required to establish, implement and maintain an injury and illness prevention program (IIPP).  The memo provides a brief background on the role of insurers in helping employers comply with the law.  The memo is available for review and public comment on the CHSWC website until February 21, 2012.

CHSWC is charged with examining the health and safety and workers’ compensation systems in California and recommending administrative or legislative modifications to improve their operation. The Commission was established to conduct a continuing examination of the workers’ compensation system and of the state’s activities to prevent industrial injuries and occupational illnesses and to examine those programs in other states.
