The Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation Approves RAND Working Papers

OAKLAND  --  The Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation (CHSWC) has approved for circulation and feedback the RAND Working Papers: Regulatory Actions that Could Reduce Unnecessary Medical Expenses Under California’s Workers’ Compensation Program, and Hospital Emergency Department Services Furnished Under California’s Workers’ Compensation Program. The RAND Working Paper Ambulatory Surgery Facility Services Provided to California’s Injured Workers is posted as a final report.

CHSWC is charged with overseeing the health and safety and workers’ compensation systems in California and recommending administrative or legislative modifications to improve their operation.  The Commission was established to conduct a continuing examination of the workers’ compensation system and of the state’s activities to prevent industrial injuries and occupational illnesses and to examine those programs in other states.
