CHSWC Releases Summary Reports on ONIC Roundtables, Schools Injury and Illness Prevention Program Roundtable, and Workplace Wellness Roundtable

OAKLAND –The Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation (CHSWC) has approved for release three Summary Reports on the Occupational and Non-Occupational Integrated Care (ONIC) Roundtables, the Schools Injury and Illness Prevention Program Roundtable, and the Workplace Wellness Roundtable coordinated by CHSWC in 2008.

These roundtables brought together representatives from local, state and federal agencies, employers, insurers, and medical providers to discuss challenges and strategies to overcome challenges in the respective areas of health, safety and workers’ compensation. Research findings, key issues and recommended next steps are included in each of the reports.

CHSWC is charged with examining the health and safety and workers' compensation systems in California and recommending administrative or legislative modifications to improve their operation.  CHSWC was established to conduct a continuing examination of the workers' compensation system and of the state's activities to prevent industrial injuries and occupational diseases and to examine those programs in other states.
