In October, 1996, the California Department of Education formed the Office of Regional Occupational Centers and Programs (ROCP) to work with the existing 72 ROCPs in the state and their support agencies. Functions
Workers' compensation reform legislation passed in 1993 created the Commission and charged it with overseeing state health and safety and workers' compensation programs. It also recommends administrative and legislative changes to improve their operation. The Commission was established to conduct a continuing examination of the state's activities to prevent individual injuries and occupational diseases, and to examine these programs in other states.

Publications on workers' compensation and health and safety issues for use by workers, employers, and other interested members of the workers' compensation community. Resources include videos and factsheets for injured workers as well as reports in the areas of vocational rehabilitation, medical-legal reports, permanent disability, fraud, the injured worker's experience, and a project to identify, track, and bring into compliance employers illegally uninsured for workers' compensation.
