Governor Wilson appointed Louis. J. Bonsignore deputy director of communications for DIR. Bonsignore has served as deputy director of public affairs for the department of Consumer Affairs since 1991. In this capacity he directed the public education and communications effort for the department.
Previously, Bonsignore served as press secretary in Senator Tom Campbell's 1990 and 1988 campaigns. He also worked as director of communications at the San Francisco-based Jenkins Communications in 1988-89, and as director of public affairs for the New York State Urban Development from 1985 to 1988.
He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa in 1978.
